About the Role

As an Cabin Trimmer, you will install, repair, modify and finish aircraft cabin interiors in accordance with approved engineering drawings, technical documentation, aviation standards and customer requirements.


Working with a range of specialist materials and equipment, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality interior work while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and craftsmanship.

Your work may include everything from aircraft seating, carpets and curtains to cabin panels, insulation, upholstery and bespoke interior components.



Key Responsibilities

Install and trim aircraft seats, carpets, curtains, panels, insulation and other cabin furnishings.

Cut, shape, sew, fit and finish materials including leather, fabric, vinyl, foam and carpet.

Remove, inspect, repair and reinstall aircraft interior components.

Produce accurate templates and patterns using technical drawings or existing components.

Use hand tools, power tools, sewing machines, adhesives and specialist aircraft trimming equipment.

Read, understand and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and approved technical data.

Complete work accurately, efficiently and within agreed production schedules.

Inspect finished work to ensure correct fit, appearance, security and overall quality.

Identify and report defects, damage or non-conformances.

Accurately record completed work and materials used.

Follow all aviation safety, quality, environmental and foreign-object-debris (FOD) procedures.

Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Work closely with engineers, fitters, inspectors and production supervisors to deliver high-quality aircraft interiors

Support additional duties and tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For


We’re looking for talented and experienced individuals with strong practical skills and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality aircraft interiors.

Essential skills and experience:

Previous experience in aircraft trimming, upholstery or aircraft interiors.

Strong practical skills in cutting, sewing, upholstery, fitting and finishing.

Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, measurements, templates and instructions.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.

Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

Ability to work efficiently to deadlines within a regulated production or maintenance environment.

Qualifications & Technical Knowledge

Ideally, you will have:

A relevant qualification or apprenticeship in upholstery, aircraft interiors, trimming or a related discipline.

Previous experience working within an aviation maintenance or aircraft manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of aircraft-approved materials, adhesives and applicable flammability requirements.

An understanding of aviation quality systems and procedures.

Familiarity with Human Factors, tool control and foreign-object-debris (FOD) prevention.
