BCT Aviation Maintenance has successfully completed an Airbus A320 6-Year C Check at its base maintenance facility at East Midlands Airport, demonstrating the depth of its engineering expertise and capability in delivering complex heavy maintenance programmes. Undertaken on behalf of Advantage Aviation Services Sweden AB , the project involved an extensive programme of inspections alongside a series of complex structural repairs, providing an opportunity for BCT's experienced engineering team to demonstrate its capabilities across a wide range of A320 maintenance disciplines. A key advantage of the project was BCT's ability to offer a complete maintenance-to-paint solution at East Midlands Airport. With both base maintenance and aircraft painting available on the same site, the aircraft could move directly from its maintenance programme into the paint facility without the need for additional ferry flights to another location. This integrated approach offers operators tangible savings in both time and cost, reducing aircraft movements, simplifying logistics and helping to optimise overall turnaround. Following completion of the maintenance programme, the aircraft was fully repainted by BCT's trusted partner, Airbourne Colours, before its departure from East Midlands Airport, ready to enter service with its new operator. The successful completion of the project highlights BCT Aviation Maintenance's ability to deliver complex base maintenance inputs, while offering operators the additional benefit of an integrated service solution. Combining experienced engineering personnel, established industry partnerships and on-site painting capability, BCT provides a streamlined approach to aircraft maintenance that responds to the operational and commercial priorities of commercial aircraft operators. Congratulations go to the BCT engineering team, whose dedication, technical expertise and breadth of specialist skills were instrumental in delivering this maintenance programme, further demonstrating the depth of engineering capability within the business. BCT Aviation Maintenance has achieved a significant regulatory milestone after securing approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to extend its Part-145 base maintenance C Check capability to 84 months for Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 Classic and Next Generation aircraft. This latest approval marks a strategic enhancement of BCT’s heavy base maintenance capability, enabling the company to perform extended interval C Checks on two of the world’s most widely operated narrowbody platforms. With global fleets of Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft continuing to dominate short and medium-haul operations, demand for efficient, flexible, and cost-effective maintenance solutions remains high. BCT’s enhanced capability is designed to support operators managing high-cycle aircraft, where maintenance optimisation is critical to balancing cost efficiency with operational reliability. Additionally, the approval confirms BCT’s continued compliance with stringent Part-145 regulatory requirements, alongside demonstrated expertise in structural maintenance, engineering oversight, and fleet maintenance planning. The extension also reflects the organisation’s investment in skilled personnel, advanced tooling, and robust reliability management processes.
