About the Role
As a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will carry out aircraft maintenance and certification within the scope of BCT Aviation Maintenance Limited’s company approval.
You will be responsible for completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance documentation and applicable regulations, using your technical knowledge and experience to ensure aircraft are maintained and returned to service safely and efficiently.
The role also includes responsibility for maintenance planning, work pack preparation, customer liaison and operational coordination, including AOG activities.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out aircraft maintenance and certification within the scope of company approval.
Ensure all maintenance is completed in accordance with approved maintenance documentation and applicable aviation regulations.
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of aircraft and confidently interpret and use aircraft maintenance documentation.
Plan and coordinate manpower, tooling and spares requirements for maintenance activities.
Prepare, manage and distribute Work Packs, including relevant BCT forms and procedures where required.
Receive customer work orders and maintenance requests.
Maintain regular communication with customers, keeping them informed of job progress and any issues affecting delivery..
Liaise with the Line Maintenance Manager and wider management team as required.
Respond promptly and professionally to calls and emails.
Provide out-of-hours liaison with the Line Maintenance Manager when required.
Keep the Line Maintenance Manager informed of significant operational events, including aircraft delays, incidents involving BCT personnel or equipment, and aircraft damage.
Provide day-to-day liaison with customer Maintenance Control Centres (MCC).
Support AOG and operational maintenance planning activities.
Participate in customer morning conference calls and other operational meetings as required.
Ensure engineering computer systems are kept accurately up to date.
Complete all maintenance records, certification and associated paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
Maintain a detailed and accurate shift diary.
Provide clear and comprehensive verbal and written handovers.
Communicate technical, operational or safety issues promptly to management.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Support additional duties and responsibilities as required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for experienced B1 engineers who combine strong technical capability with excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
Essential requirements:
Hold a current UK CAA Part-66 B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
Hold appropriate company authorisation relevant to the role.
Demonstrable aircraft maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of applicable aviation regulations and legislation.
Proven ability to accurately interpret and work with approved aircraft maintenance documentation.
Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance and certification requirements.
Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate manpower, tooling, spares and documentation.
Ability to remain calm and professional when managing operational and AOG situations.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
